Golf Series for Men

INTRODUCTION

Dr. Gary Nesty, optometrist and owner of Solar Bat Enterprises, Inc., initiated the design and
development of performance tints for golf in April of 2007. After five years of frame design,
development of lens technology, and field-testing, Solar Bat Enterprises is now announcing a
line of sunglasses featuring lens tints that will give you a clear focus and allow you to feel
comfortable over each and every golf shot.

The years of testing and working with golfers at all skill levels centered on both frame design
and selective filtration lens tints. Dr. Nesty relied on his knowledge of optics and wavelength
filtration, and the human eye to design the ultimate performance sunglass for golfing. First,
the frames had to be lightweight and comfortably hug the face of the wearer, no matter how
extreme the conditions.  Lenses had to be large for unobstructed peripheral vision, yet the
sunglasses had to “breathe” to minimize lens fogging. This was the easy part as Dr. Nesty
had been designing frames with these features for other sports such as fishing. Fishermen
require these same features in frame design and Dr. Nesty has been designing frames for
fishermen since 1994. The casual sunglass wearer normally puts on sunglasses to drive to
and from work, for short periods at the beach, etc.,but the fisherman or golfer puts on sunglasses that
stay on for many hours at a time.. Large lenses with 8-radius wrap allow the golfer to make a
complete shoulder turn on the back swing while keeping a clear focus on the golf ball
throughout the entire swing.

Driving the ball is an important part of the game of golf, but skill on the greens will set you apart
from the competition and vastly improve your scoring average. To excel at putting one has to be
able to read the contour but also the grain of the green. This is purely a visual task. First you
have to see and process this visual information to line up the putt. Dr. Nesty knew if he could design
a lens tint that would make both the contour and the grain of the greens more obvious to the
golfer scores would improve. This is what the doctor set out to accomplish. Sunglasses were built
and lens tints were tested on beginning golfers, serious weekend golfers, golf instructors,
professional golfers, sports vision specialists, as well as high school and college golf teams and
coaches. Four years of research and development went into the performance golf green tint and
performance golf brown tint. Finally, sunglasses a golfer can wear, that will not only protect the
wearer’s eyes from the harmful effects of the sun, but will actually improve performance on
the links. Solar Bat’s Performance Golf Sunglasses will allow your eyes to relax and afford clear
vision whether you are reading a green, following the flight of your golf ball, or making a full
swing over the golf ball. Try a pair and the results will be dramatic. Let the doctor improve your
score and protect your eyes from the sun.
