PNVXD Realtree™ Camo Polarized and PNVX Non-Polarized Tints

WHEN TO USE NON-POLARIZED LENSES

Polarization is not necessary in all sport applications.  Sports activities that do not involve surfaces that produce glare do not necessitate the use of polarized lens.  Such sports include hunting, tennis, running, and cycling.  Some sports such as handball require glasses for the purpose of eye protection only.

PNVX BROWN (B):  (17% light transmission)

Brown is a very comfortable tint for the eye.  Blue light is at the end of the visible spectrum, thus blue light wavelength are more difficult for the human eye and visual system to process.  The brown tint’s filtration curve is skewed toward the blue end of the spectrum thus eliminating much of the blue light that can cause eyestrain. Brown is very effective as a tint in flat light as it will improve contrast sensitivity.  Brown will darken browns and distort color perception slightly.  Excellent tint for hunting in moderate to bright light levels.

PNVX GRAY (G):  (15% light transmission)

Soft gray is so named because it is not a smoke gray tint and is much more comfortable to the human eye.  This soft gray tint is a neutral density filter.  Soft gray filters all wavelengths of the visible spectrum equally.  All colors remain true.  The soft gray tint has the lowest light transmission making it the darkest of the non-polarized Solar Bat® tints.  Soft gray is the best tint to wear when true color perception is required.  Excellent for hunting in the brightest light levels.

PNVX HiVisYellow (HVY):  (27% light transmission)

Yellow/green tint is designed for hunting game such as deer or quail as it will made the white of the animal more visible against the predominately brown body.  This tint will also enhance the game against the background in the field.

PNVX VERMILLION (V):  (29% light transmission)

Vermillion is an orange/red tint that will highlight red and orange making it a great tint for shooting orange or red clay targets or tracking blood trails.

PNVX YELLOW (Y):  (34% light transmission)

The ultimate high contrast tint. Yellow will give you 30 additional minutes of light in both the AM and PM.  Excellent tint for hunting and shooting sports in low light situations.

PNVX CLEAR (C):  (98% light transmission)

The clear lens is for protective purposes only.  Even though the lens is clear the presence of a lens in front of the eye will decrease light transmission by 2%.

In 2013 Solar Bat® is proud to announce a new line of sunglasses featuring Realtree® AP camouflage frame finish

The line of Realtree® AP sunglasses includes all PNVXD polarized tints and special species specific PNVX non-polarized lens tints to improve your visual performance in the field.  Dr. Gary Nesty called on his knowledge and experience in the field of optics and selective wavelength filtration technology to design tints that will help you see the game you hunt and the blood trails you track.  Be an improved hunter and shooter by wearing this new line of sunglasses.  Sunglass kits are available so you can have multiple lens tints and only one pair of sunglasses.  We also have a sunglass style available with a prescription insert in either distance only or lined bifocal.

SOLAR BAT® SELECTIVE WAVELENGTH FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY

Dr Gary Nesty called on his knowledge of optics and the human eye to design tints to enhance vision and thus performance in your chosen sport and outdoor activities.

PNVX OPTICS (PRESCRIBED NATURAL VISION EXTRA)

Doc knows how the human eye works and optically what is required of a sunglass lens to provide the wearer with unaffected depth perception and unrestricted peripheral vision.  Maximum eye protection and visual performance is best achieved with a sunglass lens that wraps around the face.  The trade off is that this lens design can adversely affect depth perception and constrict peripheral vision.  Doc designed PNVX optics to maintain the advantages of a wrap lens while avoiding the disadvantages.

PNVXD OPTICS (PRESCRIBED NATURAL VISION EXTRA DEFINITION)

Doc is always searching for ways to improve the optics in Solar Bat® lenses.  As soon as the PNVX optics were designed, Doc started the research and development of a second generation lens.  He utilized lens curve and thickness variations to achieve even better visual performance.  This second generation lens design was named PNVXD.

PNVX and PNVXD vs GLASS LENSES

PNVX and PNVXD lenses are 95% as scratch resistant as glass and are 20% the weight and 10 times more impact resistant.  Polarized glass lenses frequently delaminate and Solar Bat® lenses rarely delaminate.  In 2012 less than 1% of the glasses prescribed by eye care professionals in the USA were glass lenses.  Glass lenses are old technology.  If you are still wearing glass lenses you need to jump into the 21st century with Solar Bat®.

ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT

Ultraviolet wavelengths are invisible to the human eye but nonetheless harmful.  UV light causes sunburn, skin cancers, cataract, and macular degeneration to name the most recognized complications of prolonged exposure.  Solar Bat® lens material is a 100% UV screen and we use polarizing film that is also a 100% UV screen.  Your eyes and the skin around your eyes are doubly protected from all harmful UV wavelengths.

SCRATCH RESISTANCE

A scratch resistant coating is applied to the entire lens and then reapplied to double the thickness of the coating.  With normal care your Solar Bat® will give you years of service.

EMP 99.9% POLARIZATION

Polarization is accomplished by incorporating a polarizing film into a lens no matter what the lens material.  One way to produce a polarized lens is to shape the lens, either by thermoforming or molding, then glue a polarized film onto the front surface.  This polarized lens configuration is utilized by many sunglass manufacturers but is unacceptable and does not meet the rigid standards of Solar Bat®.

Solar Bat®’s proprietary PNVX and PNVXD lenses are polarized by encapsulating the polarized film within a molded lens. A scratch resistant coating is then applied to the entire lens and then reapplied to double the thickness of the coating.  This protects the polarized film and results in a state of the art, optical quality product that is worthy to carry the Solar Bat® name.

Solar Bat® EMP has the maximum possible 99.9% polarization, you cannot have a higher level of polarization.

WHY POLARIZED?

Glare is to your vision as static is to your hearing.  Polarized lenses eliminate glare from horizontal surfaces thus enhancing visual acuity and performance.

WHY POLARIZED SUNGLASSES WHEN DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM?

Rain is clear.  Even though light levels are lower when it is raining you see the rain because it is reflecting what light is available. Polarization will eliminate the horizontally reflected light from the rain drops.  You will see through the rain and be a safer driver.  You must however use good judgement and not wear sunglasses when light levels are extremely low.  Mossback® was developed for fishing but subsequent research and testing proved that this green tint is the ultimate polarized tint for driving in the rain.

If Mossback® polarized lenses do not make you a safer driver in the rain return the purchase within 21 days, in like new condition, and receive a full refund.

WHY MOSSBACK® POLARIZED LENSES WILL MAKE YOU A BETTER FISHERMAN

Shallow water fishing is a visual sport.  To target where fish live and eat you need to see stumps, lay downs, rocks, weed lines, and the fish.  Polarization will remove the glare from the surface of the water allowing you to see through to the bottom.  Now is when Doc's knowledge of selective wavelength technology will pay off for you.  Most of what you need to see is green.  Weeds are green and bass are green and the fact is a green lens will make green objects more visible.  The second fact is that a green lens will bleach out brown, the advantage is - off color and muddy water will be bleached our and your vision into the water will be improved.  How can you imagine a better lens tint than one that will make a bass more visible, increase the contrast between a bass and the spawning bed, make weeds and weed lines more visible, and bleach out and improve visibility in off color or muddy water?

If Mossback® is not the best fishing and sight fishing tint you have ever worn return the purchase within 21 days, in like new condition, for a full refund.
